I was supposed to have a quick Doctor’s appointment this am to just check my asthma related symptoms and ended up getting a ton of tests done followed by the news that I may need an operation NOT related to my asthma at all..  WoW..  What a day! After picking up Rx at CVS I walked back to my car through the farmers market and found a blue scarf with hearts on it – small pleasures sometimes can ease stress…  Now back at my desk after what seems like an eternity of people poking at me with needles, sonogram equipment and other tools…   i took a few pix at the farmer’s market, they have some booths of jewlery and such…

That is the beauty of Southern California. 80 degrees at the beach a few weeks from Christmas. Love it!  As you know I have been doing some wardrobe styling in my spare time (HA HA) as if I have much of that, but it is more of a pleasure than a task for me. This latest shoot wasn’t really planned out months in advance, it just sort of came together. The video here is just one set of photos and one model, we actually had two models and about 10 looks. What a great day. More to come!

We all met in the morning at Bluff Park in Long Beach, Ca and took over an area of the grass and started make up, hair and I opened the back of my SUV and started sorting wardrobe – we must have looked sort of crazy, but I was really looking to capture a chic/bohemian look as the main focus and then we threw in some MOD and Sexy Glam too… I am very happy with the results!

Our Day of the Dead project for Oct 2010 was a great day of collaboration and our biggest production to date at the studio. The core theme of a bride and groom was enhanced by the contributions from THS108 Stylists Kathleen andCandise. The twisted fishtail braid incorporated most of the model’s hair from hairline to approx 4? into the hair. Both red and dark brown artificial hair extensions were added for length, texture and color. The braid was then pulled out of place in several sections around the head and large barrel curls were added to the crown section for height and as a background for the headpiece. The bouquet, boutoneer, and 3-piece headpiece were designed and created exclusively for the studio collective by Julie@ FaithGrows and add another dimension of morbid beauty to the brides gorgeous makeup, designed by makeup artists, Veronica Garcia (Bride) & ZeBek (Groom)Our photographer Andreanna shot amazing images of the wedding couple and members of theDanzas de Aztlan on real film! (Thank You, Anthony for bringing the crew!) The contribution to set design from science professor, Rose gave the photos an authentic look.(Thankyou, Rose!!) Stylist, Corey Tess’s work with wardrobe and set design pulled together all of the many aspects of this production to create the perfect look for this concept. The result is an exciting collection of photos that are beautiful, melancholy and romantic at the same time. We are very grateful to have been part of this day! Thankyou to everyone who shared their talent!

Here is a guy without a lot of options, in the projects, his sister is almost raped and when he is interviewed by the local media, he is so lively and quotable and captivating that the video makes the viral rounds, before the day is out some kids make a auto-tune version of his interview and the whole thing explodes bigger than the Old Spice Ads – next thing you know Antoine is getting a house, donations, people are clammering for a ringtone version of the song and buying t-shirts that quote him, he is all over twitter, facebook and youtube and all in a matter of weeks.

There is no perfect formula for events like these, but when they happen.. it’s like binary magic!

I have been to CES many times and been among geeks in regular clothing, but Comic Con is where I will for once be one of the most conservatively dressed people in any given room. This is going to be good!
