Dear Barbie,

Dear Barbie,
I miss your shiny plastic face, eyes so blank yet content in perfection. I meant to draw you from your slumber, under teddy and Betty Boop… Alas, I find in my new world, you have no place, but there, in memory… On summer days, in shallow pools, dreams of our future filled my lungs… for you were all I would become- perhaps not blonde, nor stamped at the nape, but just the same – a coldly faultless raving beauty, empty headed and content in flawless splendor and the crinkle of a taffeta gown. Rushing to the waiting party (motionless until I enter), with the Ken of my choice in the passengers seat… hair too long to be practical- wild in the wind and untamed fury of the convertible monster..
I find that I have lost my way, and wish you’d once again show guidance. Illuminate the path- so radiant in hot pink dazzle- ending in that desired, selfish- all consuming- 80′s lifestyle…. Where we are each the star of our own glass bowl- contained, protected… and sparkling… in immaculate eternity. Where have you been? Are you keeping busy? I hear you have had yet another face lift… ah, how pretty and contemporary you are.. running for president on a platform of peace and love for all… what a clever girl- and they call you a bimbo- getting everything, being everything- doing it all- possessing the power- men- cars- houses- and yes, the jet skis, and never doing a lick of work…. although I have seen you as doctor, vet, and rock star, many a time…
How I have envied you, my dearest friend. How I have wished that one day, it would all come true.. your universe revolves around you… all things material and unreal are stamped with the scrolling B that is your TM… Ah- clever, clever girl… my childhood confidant… never to breath a word, or blink an eye, or enjoy the feel of his hands through your glistening locks… but to own and be owned by it all.
I wish you all the pinkest, and brightest neon days to come, and still marvel at your beauty, and ageless drawing power… in this new self I find pleasure in your existence and amusement in our memories…
Love to Ken,
XOXO
Corey
