The Fountain – Movie Review

Interesting is the best I can do for this film. Also, Rachel Weiss looks great as usual. Apparently this guy is on the quest for the tree of life to save his girl who has a brain tumor. They sort of dump you into the film, like a sleeping kid pushed into the swimming pool. All sorts of things run through your mind. You go from seeing Hugh Jackman as a knight, to this Nirvana state, to flash backs of a moment with Rachel in a red dress, back to the present where Hugh is a Dr in some desolate cold place…  i wont give away the ending, if there is a twist..  the entire thing is twisting and turning aimlessly until the final moments and then it gets a bit serious for a moment.. then back to crazyville…  some of the images are disturbing.. others are engaging.. over all, if for some reason you liked Solaris (George Clooney) you will like this.

I think a more successful film that edges around this sort of eurphoric imagery it The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind… at least that makes sense and has a STORY!
